Our Director - Janelle Sebren

Janelle Sebren, the owner/director of The Sacramento Academy of Dance, has been a Licentiate of the Cecchetti Council of America since 1986. She has also received the Council's coveted "Young Teacher of the Year" award. During her fifteen year professional dance career, she performed with the Tulsa Ballet, The Scala Theater in Barcelona, and was Prima Ballerina with the Nevada Dance Theater.

Janelle has been teaching ballet for more than 30 years. The Sacramento Academy of Dance is the fourth school of ballet that she has directed. She previously operated successful schools in Colorado Springs, Anaheim and Reno. Janelle has coached hundreds of girls and has produced students who have gone on to dance in such prestigious organizations as The New York City Ballet, The Boston Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, and in Broadway and Las Vegas shows.

The Sacramento Academy of Dance and its teachers are dedicated to the fullest development of each student's potential, whether the goal is a professional career or a lifelong avocation. Ms Sebren and her staff strive to impart the love of dance along with the necessary technical training.

The Sacramento Academy of Dance offers ballet classes for preschoolers through teens and adults. All instruction is grounded in the Cecchetti Method. This method offers a balanced and planned system for the development of the student from the first lesson to solo status. The Cecchetti Method has produced many of ballet's greatest dancers including Pavlova and Nijinsky.

The Academy is conveniently located at 2818 Marconi Avenue (near Fulton Avenue). The studio features three fully air-conditioned class rooms and a sprung dance floor.
